  1. Well, as I finally got hold of a complete source package I modified the 
  2. RGB mode a bit. 
  3.  
  4. First of all, 25mhz videl = overscan.
  5. Secondly, NTSC mode = No top/lower borders what so ever in 240/120 mode!

  7. So, what did this result in?
  8.  
  9. Well, it can best be described in one way: SPEEEED!
  10. The pixels were blocky (160*120) but they sure covered the whole screen, 
  11. and the feeling were _really_ good. 90% of the time the FPS counter were 
  12. placed ABOVE 12 on my plain 16mhz Falcon. That's better than AvP on the 
  13. Jaguar :)

  15. As this mode sets videl to 25mhz, Falcon-FX, Resolution Card etc will 
  16. also work with it, I did a boot disk and tried it on the Speedres Card as 
  17. well, and Wheeii!! The lowest number I noticed were 13 or 14, but 
  18. generally around 20fps. The pixels were a bit blockier than JagDoom 
  19. (JagDoom has better textures as well) but the framerate looked about the 
  20. same and the Falcon picture cover more of the screen.

  23. Hmm.. are we beginning to compete with Jaguar? Silly really! The 
  24. JaguarDoom should outclass a Falcon by miles, here you can easily see 
  25. what a good programmer can do instead of demanding new hardware. :)
